Looking through all the various methods available there is no way that one cannot grow their own vegetables or fruits and herbs at home.
Sure some require more funds in order to set up but wouldn't it be great to be able to pluck your own lettuce from your salad? Or pick a fresh lemon for that cheesecake you are busy baking for the holidays? The possibilities are endless and you will feel more self sufficient and proud of yourself for growing your own organic veggies and fruits.

Sure it may feel quite daunting to start growing... well, anything honestly, but you are not alone. There are so many of us who are unsure of where to start, which growing system works best for what you want to grow and of course which vegetables work for what season.
All the videos and blogs are helpful but only to a point. In South Africa, our climates are vastly different in various regions and of course not all of us live on acres of land... but fear not, we will do our best to inform you and help you to make the right decisions for what to farm and how to grow those said organic produce.

Choosing your Growing System

We know this is probably not the hardest part of the growing your own veggies process, however we beg to differ.
Choosing the right growing system and growing medium is paramount to how successful you will be with growing your own produce at home in your home garden.

The traditional way of growing your veg or fruit is in soil, but even that is not always a guarantee because if you don't prepare your soil correctly you will have stunted or weak plants OR in the worst case scenario they will die before you've even gotten a chance to grow your crop.
